What the numbers show

Gross intake ratio to the last grade of lower secondary general education, adjusted gender parity index (GPIA) is currently reported for 192 countries. The highest value is 1.4 GPIA in Suriname; the lowest is 0.5832 GPIA in Chad.

The median across all reporting countries is 1.02 GPIA, and the mean is 1.03 GPIA.

The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 2.
